Hello CHS Class of 1978!
First, I want you all to know that a lot of talented people are putting their energy together to create a really special event for us this July. More classmates are joining the original committee members to make this a really memorable party -- not to mention activities for the rest of the week.
This is all very exciting and we want everyone to attend! EVERYONE!
Our biggest stumbling block right now is FINDING PEOPLE!!! We need your help! If you know of anyone who has not been contacted please pass on the Website information..
We are emphasizing that it has been THIRTY YEARS ("Mary Lou! quit saying that!") and it's time to put the past into the past and have a really good time now! Life is short – let's party!
We are all rescheduling ours lives to come back to a place where we were 30 years ago! That is quite a feat. There are schedules to be altered. Vacations plans to make. Hotels to be reserved. Cars to be serviced or rented. Husbands, wives, significant others to be convinced that they will have a good time too....or at least let you go without them! Make sure mom and dad have room for you to stay for an entire week or at least a few days. Make sure your favorite hair stylist has room for hair, nails and a pedicure. Get just the right outfit together.
And, you're coming to a place that, for the most part, doesn't even resemble what we have in our collective memories. CORA-MART is empty. When people are referring to the “Village” they AREN'T talking about the movie theater they are talking about “up-town" or the new elementary school. We didn't even go to the high school that now stands where our school buildings were. There is a POOL on school grounds! Brant Sarber owns successful restaurants – notice the “s”! Baskin and Robbins is GONE! And, the Bank of America IS A PETCO!
Do you really want to do this? YES!
We are so excited to see you all and can't wait to give each and every one a very big hug! Please come. I promise that you will say it was well worth it!
Looking forward to a great time,
Mary Lou Staight
